CVPR 2027 · before you submit
CVPR 2027 submission checklist
Desk rejections at CVPR are usually avoidable: a missed registration, an overlong paper, or an author name left in the PDF. Go through this list the day before the deadline, not the hour before.

Registration (Nov 10)
- The 2027 CFP says no extension will be given for paper registration.
- (2026) After registration you can't add or remove authors, only reorder them. Title and abstract stay editable until the paper deadline, and after that the author list is final. Get the author list right on Nov 10.
- (2026) Authors are added to the reviewer pool automatically, and an incomplete OpenReview profile can lead to desk rejection.
- (2026) At most 25 submissions per author; extras are desk-rejected.
Format and page limit
- (2026) Papers are limited to eight pages including figures and tables. Additional pages may contain only references.
- (2026) Use the official CVPR author kit. Papers that don't use it can be rejected without review, so don't tweak its margins or fonts either.
- Check the compiled PDF, not the source: overfull figures and squeezed spacing are easy to spot.
Anonymity (double-blind)
- (2026) Acknowledgments must not identify the authors. Leave them out of the submission.
- (2026) No links to websites that reveal who you are, and don't cite your public code base. Say the code “will be made publicly available”.
- Cite your own prior work in the third person (“Smith et al. showed”, not “we showed”).
- Clear the PDF metadata. LaTeX and Word often write your name into the Author field.
- (2026) Posting to arXiv is allowed, but don't discuss the paper with the media before acceptance.
Supplementary material (Nov 23)
- (2026) Videos, proofs, extra figures and tables are fine. Reviewers aren't obliged to read them, so anything essential belongs in the main paper.
- (2026) Videos must not show author names or institutions, and no external links anywhere: paper, supplementary or rebuttal.
Policies
- Dual submission (2027 CFP): no substantially similar paper may be under review elsewhere between Nov 16, 2026 and Feb 22, 2027. (2026) arXiv preprints and tech reports don't count as prior publications.
- Concurrent work (2027 CFP): papers posted after Sep 15, 2026 count as contemporaneous.
- Service (2027 CFP): all authors must agree to serve as reviewers, area chairs or senior area chairs if invited. (2026) Highly irresponsible or late reviewing could lead to desk rejection of the reviewer's own papers.
- LLMs: the 2027 CFP says the policy is still being finalized. (2026) Authors could use any tools but were responsible for what they submitted, and papers citing non-existent material were rejected. See LLM policies by venue.
What reviewers will check
CVPR reviewers give a recommendation with a justification that tells you what your one-page rebuttal must address. The training material asks for evidence-based strengths and weaknesses and tells reviewers not to reject only for missing state-of-the-art results or easily fixable errors. In practice, the weaknesses that sink papers are:
- Claims in the introduction that no experiment directly supports.
- Ablations that don't isolate the claimed contribution.
- Missing recent, directly comparable baselines with no explanation.
- Novelty concerns. Reviewers are asked to cite the specific prior work, so cite it first and say how you differ.
The CVPR review form explainer covers every field (the form is modeled, since CVPR doesn't publish it).
