What ACM MM reviewers will look for

ACM MM reviewers judge novelty (what the paper contributes and its value to the community), scientific rigor (experiment design, reproducibility, support for claims, code/data release) and multimedia suitability, separating minor camera-ready fixes from major flaws. Papers on new problems should not be devalued for lacking a new algorithm; arXiv is not a publication. The rebuttal cannot add new experiments. Final reviews and responses become public on OpenReview.

Where the bar sits. ACM MM 2025 accepted 1,250 of 5,330 research papers (23.5%; 2024: 26.2%). No score thresholds are public; on the 1–6 scale a mean of ≥ 4 (Borderline Accept) is a rough proxy for acceptance.

LLM policy for reviewers

ACM MM 2026 allows AI tools only to polish review language; clear evidence of AI-generated reviews can get the reviewer's own papers desk-rejected. ACM policy forbids uploading confidential submissions to generative AI.
